SRINAKARIN TRAIN MARKET
The market is a massive collection of more than 2,000 stalls selling everyday products like shoes, in trend fashion, children’s toys and homeware. Prices are low and bargaining is common, so it’s best just to explore and enjoy the sights, stopping frequently to try all the delicious snacks that are scattered throughout. Towards the back end of the market are lines of traders with their wares laid out on the ground
Whilst shopping is the main highlight at Rod Fai Market, be sure not miss out on the street food here too. Makeshift bars with cheap cocktails and drinks, barbecue stands with sizzling meats, fried noodle stalls, ice cream parlours, drink stands with foaming Thai iced-tea and coffee are wedged in at random spots among the goods, as well as a row of bars and restaurants at the entrance to the market, where you can sit back with a tower of beer listen to the live band, and soak up the scene. Each vendor employs various design gimmicks – from classic Volkswagen campers to old train bogies – to attract potential diners.

PATPONG NIGHT MARKET
After recently cleaning up its act, Patpong’s become one of the ‘must’ night shopping destinations for avid shoppers. Found in the built-up area known as Silom, the place is always busy and chaotic with all the commotion from the Go-Go bars nearby and lots of foreign tourists. This market in Bangkok’s notorious nightlife district is often the first and easiest stop for many tourists just arriving to Bangkok
Be warned though, the quality and prices of most items sold are about as real and trustworthy as the girls shaking their wares in go-go bars flanking the area. Both market and go-go bars seem to complement each other well, but remember not to be fooled by first impressions, and to bargain hard.

Central Embassy Bangkok is an ultra-luxury lifestyle mall, boasting an impressive collection of high-end designer stores, fine-dining restaurants, swanky cinema screens, and the extravagant Park Hyatt Bangkok hotel. Built on the grounds of the former British Embassy – hence the name – this 18 billion baht mega-mall projects the capital’s status even further as one of the world’s leading shopping destinations. Located in the heart of Bangkok’s retail district near Siam, this huge shopping centre stands out from the rest of the gauntlet of megamalls with its futuristic design as well as impressive, minimalist white interior, allowing all the big-name stores really stand out.
An exclusive cinema on the eighth floor sets you back around 1,500 baht for a single ticket, and with prices like that, we can only assume it will feature huge sofas, butlers and gold encrusted movie-stubs. The six-star Park Hyatt Hotel, which will eventually rise 37-floors above Central Embassy and the rest of Bangkok also helps set Central Embassy apart from the rest of the competition.
